Morrigan Raine
an Australian artist, musician,
singer/songwriter, composer, producer, audio engineer. Living the dream of becoming immersed in the music industry.

Hi...

First, thank you so much for making it all the way here.

While you're here, allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and this website.

I created this website as a place to document my journey of pursuing the dream of belonging to the world of music industry, and to share that journey with all of you.

My dream of being a musician hasn't always been clear to me. Since the age of 4, when I lived in Ukraine, I was trained as a classical pianist. I spent years resenting this fact, not enjoying all the practicing and the performing, playing repetitive classical pieces and not having a clear idea about what to do in the future. I realise now, all these years later, the value and depth of classical music and can certainly appreciate it now!

During the years of classical music, I spent a lot of time playing with an orchestra, playing in duets, accompanying other instruments and all the other aspects of studying classical music.

After I graduated from the Conservatorium, while living in Israel, I decided to never go back to classical music, and in fact, I stopped playing piano altogether.

During that time I mainly just enjoyed listening to a lot of different music, not concentrating on any particular genres, but just enjoying it as it came. I focused on my immigration to Australia and starting my own family. But just to give you an idea, I loved listening to artists like Enigma, Shpongle, Rammstein, Blutengel, Pink Floyd, lots of world music, and anything in between

Fast forward to the end of 2017.

Living in Australia with my family, I was going through a very difficult time in my personal life. Nothing I did seemed to help until one day I sat down at my KORG keyboard and started playing. It wasn't anything planned, more like an improvisation. A few shy chords, a little melody here and there... Turns out, it was the best form of therapy for me.

I started writing music. At first it was just mostly sad piano sounds. It was all improvised and recorded onto the KORG keyboard directly.

Pretty soon I worked out how to use a primitive software in order to record music into the computer. That was 2 years ago.

Since then, I've been writing music continuously. I have enrolled in a Sound Production course and have been chasing the dream of becoming an Audio Engineer. I have never written lyrics before, and in the last 2 years quite often I have found myself lying awake at night, only to write a song so I can fall asleep again.

I have become fascinated with music technology, any and all production techniques and becoming better and better at translating my feelings into music. My current dream is to be able to touch people's lives with my music, to make listeners feel deep emotions and through that to feel more connected to the world and to others.

I write, produce, record and mix all my music. I have met incredible people along the way who are friends, mentors, teachers, supporters and fans. So far I have been incredibly lucky in my journey. At the moment I experiment with different genres. Everything I write comes from the bottom of my soul and I don't really care what genre it sounds like, as long as it reflects my feelings. I enjoy trying different things, although I will always have a very soft spot for sad piano and vocals, as I'm sure you'll notice in my music.

My goals are to be a film composer, a successful artist, to produce other artists and musicians and to also be a recording/mixing engineer. No pressure :)

I'm always open to collaborations, projects and anything else to do with the music industry.

But to do all that I realise that I will need your help. You, the listeners and supporters, are everything. Without you, none of this exists. I realise that there is so much to learn and not enough time. What an incredible time to be alive!

So I invite you all to come along with me on this journey and discover how far we can go together.

Welcome, friends!
